Webcam-based eye tracking research for CSCL sessions

With the integration of tools to improve learning in environments collaborative activities in classrooms, interest has recently grown in providing support to the teachers who guide the participants in these sessions. Researchers from Pompeu Fabra University have developed an application to visualize the level of commitment / involvement of the students during the sessions in real time. Even so, it is unknown what information presented in the application (statistics, progress information, etc.) has been most helpful to teachers during decision making throughout the session. Therefore, the aim of the project is to investigate how systems based on webcam eye tracking works and the existing software, to propose a solution feasible and open source to capture the gaze and attention of teachers during the use of the application, which would allow determining what information has been the most consulted.
